The 2011-2012 season kicks off on October 6, 2011 with the final season game scheduled on April 7, 2012, sparking Stanley Cup playoffs fever throughout May and June.

For seats to live games, NHL tickets traditionally go on sale every year in the second week of September in preparation for the October season opener. While single ticket prices for an NHL game may run from $35-$40 on average, the 2011-2012 season is shaping up to see prices spike for tickets to the most popular games in the US and Canada - as the rule of supply-and-demand take full effect.

As the 2011-2012 season winds down, watch for Stanley Cup tickets to go on sale in late March - early April, 2012.

2012 Winter Classic

The Philadelphia Flyers will host the NHL WInter Classic at Citizens Bank Park as the Flyers go up against archrivals the New York Rangers on Monday, January 2, 2012 at 1PM ET. Watch for complete coverage on NBC in the US, and on CBC and RDS in Canada.

2012 NHL All Star Game

Later in January, the spotlight will be on the 59th NHL All-Star Game, scheduled for Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Scotiabank Place. Marking the first ever Ottawa-hosted extravaganza, the game caps a four-day celebration featuring a "Fan Fest" at the Ottawa Convention Centre.
