snowfalls averaging about 20 inches a year, Indiana offers a handful
of opportunities for skiing and snowboarding adventures throughout
the season, which usually lasts from December to early Spring.
Located in
Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Perfect North Slopes is one of the largest
ski areas in Indiana and convenient to to Louisville, KY, Cincinnati,
OH, and only an hour's drive from Indianapolis.
Perfect North
offers a total of 72 skiable acres with 22 ski trails, 11 lifts,
and snowmaking equipment that keeps the powder coming no matter
what the weather.
Pines Peak Family Ski Area is located in Valparaiso, Indiana,
with 9 ski trails, served by 4 lifts and, as the name implies,
offers fun for the entire family with group rates, ski rentals,
beginner and advanced slopes and snowboarding areas.
Another very
popular ski and snowboarding area for kids and families is Paoli
Peaks Ski Area, located in southern Indiana about 1 1/2 hour's
drive from Indianapolis. Offering snow sports enthusiasts a 900-foot
summit elevation and a 300-foot drop, Paoli Peaks has 70 acres
of ski, snowboarding and ski tubing areas including 15 ski trails
as well as beginner slopes.
