2014 World Cup Tickets

2014 world cup ticket buying guide2014 World Cup ticket sales kicked off in August 2013 as first round "random selection draw" tickets reached more than 2 million requests in the first 24 hours!

Initial ticket requests hit fever pitch again when "first come, first served" tickets went on sale from November 5-28 2013. A second phase of ticket sales began following the World Cup 2014 final draw announced in December.

The final call for last minute tickets began in April and is expected to continue right up until the big finale in Rio on July 13, 2014.

Outside Brazil, various country associations take part in World Cup tickets distribution. 2014 World Cup ticket prices for international football fans start at US $220 for the opening match and US $90 for the group-stage matches -- to a high of "anything goes" internationally on the black market.

As always, an official ticket advisory warned feverish fans to purchase tickets only from reputable dealers and to be on the lookout for unscrupulous internet sales on craigslist or other classified ad sites offering likely bogus or non-existent tickets.
