What kid wouldn't want an airplane? How about having one in the backyard in which they can imagine flying off into the sunset, or climb aboard the wings and perform not so aerial stunts?

That's where the Ace Flyer Airplane Double Teeter-Totter comes in. The Ace Flyer is not only a teeter-totter but also a play gym. Up to seven kids can play or ride at one time, to a maximum weight capacity of 600 lbs. That's a lot of kids. It seems to allow for the perfect combination of outdoor, physical play and imagination driven play.

The Ace Flyer has an interactive dashboard that includes a steering wheel and moveable gauges. It is pretty easy to assemble, although it took us considerably longer than the "assembles in 1 hour" that was stated by the manufacturer, but then again we don't put these things together every day. One really nice feature is that the height is adjustable to fit the specific needs of your family. This large piece of play equipment, about 8 ft long x 8 ft wide, is manufactured start to finish in one factory, in the United States. Despite its large size it is surprisingly light enough to move anywhere in the yard.

Outside play contributes significantly to the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children. Safe outdoor environments for children enable unstructured play that is essential for a child's mental and physical development. Some kinds of learning can only take place outside. Children need freedom to be safely adventurous. Outdoors, children are able to gain confidence in what they can do as well as feeling the benefits of being healthy and active. Physical activity is enjoyable and promotes a sense of self esteem through achievements.

Quite frankly we haven't seen a real see-saw in a long time so this was a nice change from what has been available. As far as outdoor play equipment goes we think Performance Design Inc., has remained true to their conviction - that outside of the home, playgrounds are one of the most important environments for children, by providing heavy-duty construction, state-of-the-art powder coating technology, innovative designs, aesthetically pleasing color combinations and outstanding value merged into a cool and fun product.

Older kids seemed to enjoy this as much as the younger ones did. If you have small children we think this will be a hit for many years. If you are looking for playground quality and backyard value this is definitely worth looking into.
