Angelina BallerinaAges 4 - 8

Angelina Ballerina's Dancing Game is produced by the same company that produces the American Girl books and dolls. It is clear that this company knows what little girls like!

Angelina Ballerina's Dancing Game provides children 2 games in one - Miss Lilly's Ballet School, where kids move around and learn different ballet positions as they put their dance routine together with a memory matching game.

My daughter is presently taking ballet and this game was perfect for her. It kept her attention and she wanted to keep playing and playing. As a mom that doesn't get all the exercise I should this game was a good excuse to for me to get up and pretend to be a prima ballerina, as well!

The object of the game: Be the first player to fill your stage with dance cards and perform your routine.

How to play the game: The youngest goes first, rolls the large die (easy for little hands) and moves to the space on the board that matches what's on the die. If another player's piece is already there skip to the next matching space.

If the player lands on Angelina Ballerina's space, they draw a dance card from the draw pile. The dancer on the card is performing a ballet step or position. The player should look at the picture and attempt to do it. After trying the position/step the player should place the card onto one of the squares on their personal dance stage.

Why parents love this game:

  • Little ones who want to be ballerinas love this game
  • It is a good way to see if your little one would like taking a ballet class by introducing them to basic ballet positions and steps
  • It promotes cooperative play
  • It promotes physical activity
  • It's fun to see young ones practice their moves.
