Dance 'n Play Guitar
Barney Dance
n' Play Guitar; JAKKS Pacific, Inc.; Recommended for ages
18months +, price range $14.99 to $19.99
Welcome to the world of jammin' with the Barney Dance n' Play
Guitar. This perfectly kid-sized guitar is made of brightly colored
plastic; it is smooth, light and just right for little hands.
It features the smiling faces of Barney and his three dino pals,
Baby Bop, B.J. and Riff.
The guitar plays 3 preset tunes; Do You Know the Muffin Man?,
She'll Be Coming feature Around the Mountain, and Rockin' Robin.
Press the characters and the music plays. When your child strums
the center wheel more of the song's melody is heard, with added
guitar riffs.
The guitar has a motion sensor that adds to the fun by adding
riffs and changing tempo as your child dances. The motion sensor
encourages your child to get up and move as they play. This is
a simple but important lesson in cause and effect. Providing
an opportunity for music participation in a fun way strengthens
children's educational, physical, and emotional development. Encourage
listening to and learning music throughout the child's developmental
years can enhance your child's learning power.
The music is does not have that "tin can" sound and
is surprisingly pleasant for an electronic toy. The songs are
easily recognizable so children can sing along with the music
while they play the guitar. The Barney Dance n' Play Guitar also
has an automatic shut off. After a couple of minutes Barney says,
"Good-Bye", and it remains quiet until your child picks
it up to jam again - which might not be too long - but it is a
nice feature!
Another favorable
component, especially pleasing to parents, is a volume control.
The volume can be turned down and still be clearly audible.
