Chatter Chix
Trading Cards; ChatterChix Inc. based in Florida, Recommended
ages 5 to 12, approx. Retail from $2.00 to $3.95/per 6 card pack.
While boys traditionally enjoy sports trading cards and other
cards based on elements of swapping and competition such as Pokemon
there have been very few collectable cards for girls.
Introducing hit trading cards for girls has proved to be easier
said than done. Trading cards for girls have shown to be a very
difficult faction to get going, never mind sharing the great popularity
and stamina that trading cards have with boys.
There are
really only two contenders out there now and only one, Bella Sara,
can be considered a marketing hit...until now. Well
girls, welcome to the world of ChatterChix
ChatterChix Inc., founder and CEO, Robyn Bard, realized that girls
were largely ignored in this forum. Her understanding of the significance
of positive role models for girls and the impact that they can
have on a developing young mind coupled with her life experience
as a Mom, Teacher and PTA President enabled her to come up with
Chatterchix trading cards. The Chatterchix were inspired by Robyns
own daughter and are based on the concept that every girl could
use a contemporary role model, one who also represents the timeless
values
of respect, responsibility, and friendship.
Each of the
Chatterchix cards features an originally designed, cartoon caricature
Chatterchik who represents one of the 50 United States. Every
card features a bio for the girl and fun facts for her respective
state. There are also 30 Chatterpet cards whose intent is to teach
girls about unconditional love, responsibility, and trust. They
include a wide variety of animals from dogs to reptiles.
Future plans include the release of international and group friend
cards, which would feature girls who are part of different athletic
teams and civic groups.
We love the
concept and the cards and characters are fun. The Chatterchix
are based on real girls, with natural, wholesome looks, and varied
young girl interests. The pet cards are equally cute, and there
is a pet for every taste, from puppies and kittens to bearded
lizards and turtles.
Girls can
go online at chatter
chix.com and check out the characters diaries, play games,
ask questions, or even give the girls advice. There is no chat
room involved so it seems to be a safe site for all ages. The
girls really enjoyed having their own trading cards but would
like to see a couple more cards, an activity, and a sticker or
surprise in the package. Moms would like a little more trivia
or factual info on the cards but overall they were happy with
the idea, the cards, and the site.
