Revolution; Disney Grooves: Konami, rated E for everyone, MSRP
$US69.99.
Well, game maker Konami has done it again.
The newest
version of the Dance Revolution takes you to the magical world
of Disney and makes the kids, and parents, want to jump off the
couch and start dancing.
By combining
the mega-popular DanceDanceRevolution game, 40 of Disney's most
popular musical hits, classic Disney characters, and the technology
of the Wii Konami has created a really fun and exciting, family
oriented game that gets you up and moving to the tunes.
Up to four people can play at a time. The initial set comes with
two floor mats, and before you unlock anything, you start off
with 18 songs, including "Bippidi-Bobbidi-Boo," "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah,"
and "I Just Can't Wait to be King."
You choose
your mii and play the game. The Disney characters like Mickey,
Minnie, and Goofy will dance along with you during the songs.
The backgrounds are quite bright and colorful! Each time you successfully
complete a dance, you unlock something new, you can unlock up
to 60 Disney themed costumes to dress your mii in, and up to 40
songs to dance to.
You can choose to play with the dance pad or with a classic controller.
You have the option to play with the Wii-mote and Nunchuk to control
hand movements or choose to turn off the hand movements. If you
want to turn off the hand markers, you can do that under Options.
Whichever way you decide to play, you'll be up and having a good
time. The Crew laughed continuously while playing, mostly at the
Moms and Dads "dance moves". It seems very easy when
you watch but standing on the mat and hitting those arrows at
just the right time takes some practice. The best part is you
have so much fun it doesn't really matter what skill level you
are.
There are a few different modes of play available in Dance Dance
Revolution: Disney Grooves:
- Groove
Mode - unlock more songs and items. Each venue has an audience
request that you need to pass to clear the level. Clearing levels
unlocks items, new songs, and more levels.
- Free
Play Mode - is where you just play the game. Here you have
your choice of all the songs that have been unlocked so far.
You can play alone or with friends. There are no goals that
you need to beat. You simply need to play well enough to clear
the song.
- Workout
Mode - allows you to create custom workout lists to play
to. It also keeps track of how many calories you've burned based
on your weight. You can set a password to keep your personal
profile private and secure.
- My Studio
- Here you can take pictures of your character solo or with
the Disney characters, silly but fun.
This game is great for kids and adults. It gets everyone up and
moving, playing together, and having fun.
