A Day in the Kingdom Play set is one in a line of several themed wooden play sets from "African Safari" to "Zoom to the Moon." This set includes a castle and eight wooden figures including a king, queen, princess, wizard, 2 swordsmen, and 2 archers.

The castle consists of six pieces that fit together quite easily, like a jigsaw puzzle, and hold up nicely. All the pieces are made of a light weight, plantation-grown rubberwood, a non-splintering hardwood. The easy-to-hold, thickset wooden figures are hand-painted using brightly colored, child-safe paints.

The pieces stand independently without falling over, limiting the frustration factor. This set is fun to play with by itself but it makes an awesome addition to any block corner or building set. It transforms the block area into an make-believe world of damsels and knights. By adding this new dimension, it easily provides for hours of open ended imaginary play.

Rotating different sets into the block mix affords kids a new take on and enhances their usual block play. Kids love blocks and this set gives them more to love.
