Green Eggs and Ham Game

Green Eggs & Ham GameAges 4 and up

I do not like green eggs and ham.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.

Green Eggs and Ham

Dr. Seuss has entertained and fascinated children for years.
Now University Games has created a board game inspired by Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham.

The object of the game: to match three cards to their spaces on the board and collect the green eggs and ham card.

The board game consists of a game board, a spinner, 15 picture cards, and 4 Sam I am playing pieces.

How to play the game: The youngest player goes first. Players spin the spinner and move the designated number of spaces (1-6 spaces) clockwise around the board.

When the spinner lands on the green eggs and ham space, the player moves ahead to the next green and eggs and ham space on the board. If the player moves their playing piece and lands on a picture space he/she turns over a picture card (located face down in random order in the orange area inside the track on the game board) and announces the picture to the other players.

If the picture matches or rhymes the picture space the player is on the player gets to keep the card and place it in front of them. The first player to collect three picture cards then must end a move on the green eggs and ham card on the board to win.

Why parents love this game:

  • The rules of the game are simple
  • Children get to practice decision-making skills
  • It reinforces early reading skills
  • Children get to practice their counting, rhyming and memory skills
  • It is a great way to get children reading more Dr. Seuss books
