"Perform operations to earn money - but don't set off the alarm!"

Operation is an American game classic that came out in 1965.

Over 40 years later it is still a favorite among children. Operation is the game where children get to be the doctor. This game develops eye hand coordination and, as a parent I believe this game especially works to develop patience. Children have a tendency to work quickly and want speedy results. To win at Operation children have to work slowly and deliberately if they want to become a big time operator!

Object of the game: Collect the most money by performing successful "operations" on Cavity Sam.

How to play the game: Players take turns to pick Doctor cards which tell players what part to "operate" on and the fee they will receive if they are successful. Using the game tweezers the player begins their "operation". If they are successful in removing the assigned part without touching the metal edge of the cavity - without making Sam's nose light up - they receive their fee and their turn is over. The player that has the Specialist card for that same "operation" gets a chance to "operate" for a higher fee…if successful they then receive the fee.
