SEQUENCE for Kids

Sequence for Kids GameMommy, mommy can we play a game!

Truth be told I played Sequence as an adult, before I even had children. It is a great summer house game.

Actually it's kind of addictive. So imagne my great joy to find out that now, as a mom of two, I didn't have to wait for the teenage years (when I would have to probably tie them down to the dinner table) to play my favorite board game with my kids.

Sequence for Kids is fun for the whole family.

The object of the game is as simple as tic-tac-toe. The first player to make a SEQUENCE of 4 chips in a row (straight line, either up or down, across or diagonally) using only their colored chips, is the winner!

How to play: Players choose their chips. The chips come in four colors red, blue, green and yellow. The chips are sturdy and large and great for little fingers. The playing board is placed in the center of the playing area. The board is colorful with attractive pictures of the animals that match the pictures on the cards that the players are dealt at the beginning of the game. The cards include the type of animal it is and their given name. (The cards are shuffled or mixed face down inside the game box) and each player is dealt 3 cards. The rest of the cards are used as the draw deck. After a player decides where to place their chip, he or she must draw another card from the draw deck - then that player's turn is over.

If you draw the dragon card, you can take away one of any opponents' chip. If you draw the unicorn card, you can place your chip anywhere on the board you like. From Alice the Alligator to Zelda the Zebra, your kids will have fun playing their own version of Sequence.

This is where you can have fun teaching your children the concept of strategy! It is also where you kids are going to get upset about losing their space on board, but concentrating on how everyone has an equal opportunity to gain and lose pieces can restore peace.

Game includes folding game board, 84 colored chips, and instructions in English and Spanish. Sequence for Kids is for 2 to 4 players, ages 3 through 6.
