Smurfs

The Smurfs are little blue people that live in tiny mushroom houses in Smurf village. No human can find this village unless a smurf leads you there.

Created by Pierre "Peyo" Culliford in 1958, these characters are named to match their personalities.

For example, Grumpy Smurf is grumpy, Brainy Smurf is smart, Handy Smurf fixes things around town.

There are lots more where they came from and each one is as unique as the next. There are some characters who don't live in harmony with the Smurfs. Gargamel and his pet cat Azrael are incessantly plotting how to capture the Smurfs!

2008 marks 50 years of the Smurfs. There have been Saturday morning cartoons, video games, and figurines that come out every year.

How should this momentous occasion be marked?

There is a Smurf movie trilogy in our future, folks!
