A banging, dancing, singing good time was had with this compact, W 13.8 x D 10.2 x H 13.3 inch, wooden percussion set for young musicians. The all-in-one musical set plus drumsticks, comes unassembled. Yeah, we cringed too. We were pleasantly surprised when it took us literally 6 and half minutes to put this together, including the base/stand and all the peripherals.

What makes for speedy assembly is the add on pieces — the large drum, small drum, cymbal, and guiro, are attached with rubberized strings and wooden toggles. Better yet, once the base is assembled you can remove the all the other pieces to avoid any drumming during quiet time. Our 4 and 5 year olds were able to reassemble it in less than 5 minutes. This added an extra dimension to this wonderful musical instrument; it made it a puzzle of sorts.

One important note is that because of the rubberized attachments it is very feasible for a child to put too much pressure on the drum and possibly break off the toggles, but this would require a bit of force. As always we recommend that parents play with their children.

Besides enjoying this wonderful musical instrument, your little musician can bang, drum, tap and jam to their heart's content on this sturdy, colorful, very cool looking, modern musical band. By the way just in case your young John Bonham is pestering you to "Bang on the drums all day", the sound is not horribly loud or mind splitting, it actually has a pretty nice sound to it.

The set has two sizes of drums with sturdy latex drum heads, a wooden guiro which makes a pleasant rhythmic sound, a metal cymbal that sounds so much better than banging pots and pans. It is made from all natural, organic, recycled rubber wood that is not chemically treated and water based dyes. This toy provides opportunity for open ended creative play, its lots of fun and is definitely a stress relieving activity, for the kids anyway!
