Winery in Western Australia
Western Australia - the countries largest state - is a relatively small scale producer of Australian wine with roots in the winemaking tradition dating back to the 1840's.
Today, Western Australia is known throughout the country and internationally for its quality and diversity -- in such wine producing regions as Margaret River, Pemberton, Perth Hills wine routes, Great Southern and the Swan Valley.
Most notably, Margaret River has become a world famous region for its cabernet; the Swan Valley for its white burgundy, chenin blanc, verdelho, and shiraz; and Great Southern wine region for its riesling and chardonnay.
