There's nothing like families gathered around the warm glow of a TV to watch this year's much beloved Christmas movies and TV specials.

In 2023, as always, watch for a select group of U.S. stations specializing in everybody's favorite Christmas gems - such as CBS for animated specials, TMC for movies, or Freeform for the big mix of movies, specials and animated tales.

It's a Wonderful Life on NBC Christmas Eve? The 24-hour A Christmas Story marathon on TBS? We've got it covered.

It's nice to know that some things never change, especially around the holidays. But what else is happening around TV land this Christmas?


2023 Christmas TV - What's On?

NBC will herald the arrival of the holidays at the 88th lighting of the world's most famous Christmas tree. Stay tuned for the "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" telecast on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 with live performances by top musical talent from 8–9PM ET.

And speaking of beloved holiday traditions, watch for the movie classic "It's a Wonderful Life" to air on NBC on Christmas Eve on Sunday, December 24 at 8PM ET.

And, for more holiday fun there's the highly anticipated "25 Days of Christmas" on Freeform, beginning December 1.

Meanwhile, over on TBS the annual kickoff of the 24-hour "A Christmas Story" marathon begins on Christmas Eve at 8PM ET with continuous showings through Christmas day.

In the further race for holiday ratings, the Hallmark Channel once again promises hours of programming devoted to Christmas movies and specials in 2023.

NOTE: Peanuts fans can now watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on Apple TV+ but for non-subsctibers there's a special treat in store with FREE viewing of the beloved animation on December 16 and December 17 this year.
