american music awardsCome November, it's one of the biggest nights in music.

That's when the American Music Awards winners are announced live on ABC in the US and on CTV in Canada. This year, the awards were telecast on Sunday, November 19, 2017 beginning at 8PM ET live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Hosting the ceremony, for the first time ever, was "Black-ish" star Tracee Ellis Ross.

The American Music Awards nominations were announced on Thursday, October 12 during the live broadcast of “Good Morning America.” (See below.)

Leading the pack this year were Bruno Mars (the night's big winner), Drake, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, the Weeknd, the Chainsmokers, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee who wer all up for multiple awards.

Performances on awards night featured Pink and Kelly Clarkson in an opening act singing REM"s "Everybody Hurts". Other performers in the lineup included Demi Lovato, Nial Horan, Khalid and Imagine Dragons, Shawn Mendes, along with a special performance by Lady Gaga live from her Joanne World Tour stop in Washington DC. Also performing was Zedd, Alessia Cara, Hailee Steinfeld, Alesso, Florida Georgia Line, watt, Bebe Rexha and Portugal. The Man.

Making their AMA debut was Korean Boy Band BTS. Other special appearances included Selena Gomez, who sang the tv broadcast premiere of her new single “Wolves". Christina Aguilera also gave a musical tribute to Whitney Houston and the anniversary of “The Bodyguard” movie.

A special featured performance was by singer and music icon Diana Ross who was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's ceremony.

And it didn't stop there! Presenters on the big night included Ansel Elgort, Jared Leto, The Chainsmokers, Chris Hardwick, Ciara, DJ Khaled, Heidi Klum, Jared Leto, Lea Michele, Viola Davis and many more.
