Watch for this year's American Music Awards to air on Sunday, November 20, 2022 live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.

2022 AMA nominees are expected in late October, with more updates to follow on who will host, a complete list of presenters and performers, followed by the announcement of big winners on awards night.

2021 American Music Awards rewind

2021 AMA nominees (also see this year's WINNERS, below) included.Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, BTS, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, and The Weeknd heading the list as Artist of the Year contenders.

For the total number of 2021 AMA nominations, it was first time nominee Olivia Rodrigo who lead the pack with seven nods including artist of the year and new artist of the year.

Fve-time AMA winner The Weeknd garnered six AMA nods followed by Bad Bunny, Doja Cat and Giveon who scored five nominations each.



Olivia Rodrigo (WINNER, New Artist of the Year) and The Weeknd topped the list of 2021 AMA nominees.


Hosting the American Music Awards for the first time ever was rapper Cardi B.

Getting everybody in the groove was Silk Sonic's Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak who opened the night's festivities. K-pop superstars also joined Coldplay for their recent collab, "My Universe" with more all-star performances from Bad Bunny and top nominee Olivia Rodrigo,

And ... there was more! The complete performance lineup also included Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood, along with Kane Brown, New Edition & New Kids On The Block, Diplo, country stars Mickey Guyton and Walker Hayes, Tyler,the Creator, and Zoe Wees. Italian band Måneskin who made their U.S. awards show debut with their viral hit "Beggin.'"

2021 American Music Award presenters included the stars of the "West Side Story" remake, Ansel Elgort & Rachel Zegler, along with Machine Gun Kelly, Anthony Ramos, Brandy, Billy Porter, Winnie Harlow, Madeline Cline, Marsai Martin, Liza Koshy, JoJo Siwa, and JB Smoove.
