Following their 2006 debut, the BET Hip Hop Awards celbrates its fourth anniversary this year, hosted Mike Epps.

The awards were taped on Saturday, October 11 in Atlanta, and later aired on BET on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Kanye West, (a no show!) led the pack with 9 nominations, followed by Jay-Z and Lil Wayne with 7 nods each.

However the big news of the night was rapper T.I. — currently incarcerated in an Arkansas penitentiary on a federal weapons conviction — who won the best collaboration award with Rhianna for the song “Live Your Life”, and the CD of the year award for “Paper Trail.”

The 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards featured appearances and performances from Young Jeezy, Jay-Z, Goodie Mob, Fabolous, Soulja Boy and Snoop Dogg.
