guacamole with chips4 ripe Hass avocados (dark, bumpy textured avacados)

1/4 cup lemon or lime juice

4 small tomatoes, diced

1 medium onion, finely diced

2 garlic cloves, minced

salt & pepper to taste


1. Peel avocados and remove pits.

2. Chop avacados and place in large mixing bowl.

3. Mash with a fork until smooth, or leave coarsely mashed for "chunky style" guacamole.

4. Stir in lemon juice, tomatoes, onion, garlic, and salt & pepper to taste.

Serve in a festive bowl or party tray with lots of corn chips.

Helpful Hints:

Substitute Hass avocado with the big, light green variety, but we've found that the smaller Hass is more flavorful.

If you are preparing avacados ahead of time, make sure you sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent them from turning an unappetizing brown color. Guacamole doesn't store well so it is always best to use up a single batch at one sitting. Enjoy!
