Spaghetti Sauce Seasoning Mix

Number of Servings: 1
Prep Time: 5 Skill Level: Easy

Ingredients:

You can cut the time it takes to make spaghetti seasoning by keeping this homemade mix on hand. And it's better for you than sodium and preservative laden store bought brands. Be daring with spices. The amounts and spices listed here are only recommendations.

1 tablespoon dried onion
1 tablespoon parsley, freeze dried
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons bell peppers, freeze dried
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon instant minced garlic
1 teaspoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
or a combination of oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme, sage, marjoram

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl until evenly distributed. Spoon mixture onto a 6-inch square of aluminum foil and fold to make airtight. Label with date and contents. Store in a cool, dry place. Use within 6 months.

Helpful Hints:

Did you know?

Spaghetti is the plural form of the Italian word spaghetto, which is a diminutive of "spago," meaning "thin string" or "twine". The word "spaghetti" can be literally translated as "little strings."
