Stuffed Peppers

 

Number of Servings: 6
Prep Time: 1 1/2 hoursSkill Level: Average

Ingredients:


1 pound ground beef
1 cup cooked rice
6 green bell peppers
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
salt and pepper

Instructions:


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. In a medium skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until brown.
3. Cut tops off peppers and discard. Hollow out the peppers by removing seeds and membranes.
4. Place peppers in a baking dish with the hollowed sides facing upward.
5. In a medium bowl, mix the cooked beef, rice, 1 can tomato sauce and salt and pepper to taste.
6. Spoon mixture into each pepper, and cover with remaining tomato sauce.
7. Cover baking dish and bake for 1 hour until peppers are tender.

Helpful Hints:

You can spice this up according to taste with onion and garlic powder, oregano or parsley, etc.
