• Alfred Hitchcock's "Pyscho" is the first movie in American film history to show a toilet flushing on screen.

The Shining was nominated for two Razzies in 1980, including worst director for Stanley Kubrick. The other nod went to Shelley Duvall for worst actress.

• In the sci-fi thriller The Matrix, Sean Connery was originally offered the role of Morpheus. He turned down the role because he couldn't understand the script.

• Although he's gotten little respect from the Oscars, Arnold Schwarzenegger won a Golden Globe for Best New Actor in the 1976 comedy Stay Hungry.

The comedy Airplane! is widely assumed to be a send-up of 70's disaster films, but it was actually based on the sappy 50's melodrama Zero Hour! with large parts of the script "lifted" line by line. Take a look:

• In Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Han Solo is about to be frozen in carbon when Princess Leia says, 'I love you.' In the original script, Han Solo is supposed to say, 'I love you, too'. However, after a long day on the set, actor Harrison Ford became annoyed and snarkily remarked... 'I know.' The line stuck.

• The working title for E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial was “A Boy’s Life.”

• The first Twilight film in the franchise is the only one to NOT receive any Razzie Award nominations.

• Next time your watching Raiders of the Lost Ark, look for cameo appearnces by Star Wars droids R2D2 and C3PO hidden in the background in hieroglyphics.

• During the famous diner scene in Harry Met Sally, Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal were only required to talk about women faking orgasms. That's when Ryan improvised a very funny demonstration. (And the rest, as they say, is movie history.)

• The house in which A Christmas Story was filmed is now the Christmas Story House & Museum and a major tourist attraction in Cleveland, Ohio.

• Daniel Radcliffe was said to have broke 80 wands while filming the Harry Potter movies because he often used them as drumsticks during breaks.
