MAIN Sports Race Car Driving NASCAR Wonderful Pistachios 400

Held at the Richmond International Raceway in Richmond, Virginia. the Wonderful Pistachios 400 features top ten-point earning drivers in the final playoff to determine the Sprint Cup Chase lineup.

Stay tuned as the major superstars of NASCAR zoom down the track at the Wonderful Pistachios 400 on Saturday, September 8, 2012 tenatively scheduled to air live on ABC Television at 7:30 PM.

One of the most anticipated events of the season, drivers are usually desperate for points as this race is "One Last Race to Make The Chase." Once the checkered flag drops, the top 10 in points and two "wild card" drivers will be in The Chase.

What else makes this race at Richmond so special? Because of its proximity to Patriot Day in honor of 9/11, the Pledge of Allegiance is usually included as part of the opening ceremony.

Watch for tickets to go on sale in mid-summer. Tickets for children 12 and younger start at $25 in the Family Sections. for $40-$50 with special packages for a full weekend of racing beginning on Friday, highlighted pole qualifying and practice for the Sprint Cup Series.
