Lemony Green Beans

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed 3 cups water 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 1 teaspoon basil 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1/4 teaspoon garlic 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon zest (finely grated peel)

Instructions:

1. In medium saucepan combine salt and water. 2. Rinse and trim green beans. 3. Add beans to boiling salted water. 4. Cook on medium heat 7 minutes. 5. Drain off excess water. 6. Add remaining ingredients to saucepan and cook over low heat until the margarine or butter is melted. 7. Add beans to butter-lemon mixture and stir until the beans have all been coated. 8. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes before serving.
