Meanwhile, big metropolitan centers provide top cultural attractions such as the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and top outdoor recreation at Minnehaha Park and its top attraction, Minnehaha Falls.

More must-sees near Minneapolis include Mall of America, the nation's largest shopping center comprising acres of shops and indoor theme park rides. Nearby, also don't miss a wet-n-wild experience at America's tallest indoor water park. Formerly known as Water Park of America, in 2017 Great Wolf Lodge took control of the popular resort featuirng a four-story tandem tube ride!

Around the state, other major attractions include the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley about 20 miles south of the Twin Cities; Voyageurs National Park in International Falls; and the scenic 24-mile North Shore Drive along Lake Superior's shore stretching from downtown Duluth to Two Harbors, Minnesota.

Also in Duluth, during the winter months Spirit Mountain skiing includes 22 trails, two terrain parks, and one breathtaking view of the city and its harbor along Lake Superior.

April 27 - May 4, 2025 - Homegrown Music Festival Duluth - Dozens of vneus around town play host to more than a hundred acts from the surrounding community in this annual fun music extravaganza.

June 20 - June 21, 2025 -- Scandinavian Hjemkomst Festival Moorhead -  Celebrate your inner Viking at this culture fest bringing together music, theatre, dance, food and more at the Hjemkomst Center in downtown Moorhead.

June 19 - June 22, 2025 -- The Judy Garland Festival Grand Rapids - Follow the yellow brick road to the Judy Garland Museum for a look back at the singer's life and career through guided museum tours, live tribute performances and movie showings.

July 23 - July 26, 2025 -- Minneapolis Aquatennial Minneapolis - Civic pride is on the menu during this annual event featuring the great Torchlight Parade and one of America's most spectacular fireworks displays.

August 2 - August 3, 2025 -- SoMi Art Fair Minneapolis - For decades known as the Uptown Art Fair, it has changed its name to SoMi (South Minneapolis) Art Fair and is now located on Lyndale Avenue. It still remains one of the most popular summer events in all of Minnesota showcasing 350 artists from around the world through sculpture, ceramics, paintings, jewelry and more. Also don't miss the live music performance stage plus local food vendors for a delicious taste of Minneapolis.

August 21 - September 1, 2025 -- Minnesota State Fair St. Paul - The end of summer blowout and fun for the whole family with carnival rides, deep-fried fair food, farm animal exhibits, and big name music acts.
