While the coast may not hold the best promise of picture perfect fall color in South Carolina, inland and "upcountry" has miles of breathtakingly beautiful spots for celebrating the season. On the Top Ten list includes Greenville to check out state parks like Devils Fork, Table Rock, and Caesars Head.

Further south in The Midlands around Columbia, head for Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Highway for a more than 100-mile stretch rambling through spectacular autumn vistas.
