In the fall, the state of Washington glows with the colors of Autumn beginning in mid-September.
While Spokane and rest of Northeast Washington are aspen country, in central Washington Leavenworth is the place to be for some of the Evergreen State's richest fall foliage (also don't miss Leavenworth's annual Autumn Leaf Festival in late September.)
Or, head east to urban Seattle and you can stay right in town for a spectacular fall show at places like the 500-plus acre Discovery Park, or the Washington Arboretum, or take the scenic one-hour drive from the city up to the top of Mount Walker, where on a clear day you can almost see forever.
Enjoy the whole day, or the entire weekend, during Washington State fall fetival season. Have fun!
