The CMT Music Awards honor the best, hottest and most inspiring country music videos of the past year. They're also distinguished for being the only fan-voted awards in country music, with voting open online at

Like last year, the 2024 CMT Music Awards ceremony will air on CBS live from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas from 7 - 10 PM ET. Hosting this year's ceremony for the fourth time in a row is Kelsea Ballerini, who will also perform during the show.

2024 CMT nominations are expected to be announced in early March.

2023 CMT Music Awards rewind

Hosting last year's award ceremony were Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown who teamed up for the second time since co-hosting in 2021.

2023 CMT nominees (also the night's WINNERS, below) included Lainey Wilson who led the pack with four nominations, including video of the year (for “Wait in the Truck” with HARDY), female video of the year (“Heart Like a Truck”), collaborative video of the year (“Wait in the Truck” with HARDY) and CMT performance of the year (for “Never Say Never” with Cole Swindell.

Cody Johnson, Kane Brown and first-time nominee Jelly Roll followed with three nominations each.

2023 CMT Music Awards performers

Leading the 2023 CMT Awards performance lineup were country superstar Carrie Underwood, along with CMT Music Awards nominees Blake Shelton, Laney Wilson, Cody Johnson, Keith Urban, Carly Pearce, and Jelly Roll.

Lainey Wilson, Kane Brown and Cody Johnson led the pack at last year's 2023 CMT Awards.

Also performing was co-host Kelsea Ballerini, as well as Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn with their hit, “Thank God" (which took home the night's big prize, Video of the Year).

More 2023 CMT Award nominees taking the stage were The Black Crowes and Darius Rucker performing "She Talks to Angels; Tyler Hubbard with his hit song, "Dancin' In The Country"; and Wynonna who partnered with recent tourmate and CMT nominee Ashley McBryde. Other featured duets during the night included Gwen Stefani and Carly Pearce.

Alanis Morissette was also joined by Morgan Wade, Madeline Edwards, Lainey Wilson and Ingrid Andress performing Morrisettes's signatiure song, “You Oughta Know."

Tributes during the show including those dedicated to Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd and yet another honoring late Texas Blues legend Stevie Ray Vaughan.
