1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 2. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, lemon peel, and vanilla; beat well. 3. Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in figs. 4. Pour into greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool; cut into bars.
