• Stretching two miles long, Connecticut's largest beach can be found at Hammonasset Beach State Park, which attracts more than a million visitors each year.

• Hole-in-the-Wall Beach in East Lyme is so named for its access through a short tunnel under the railroad tracks that leads to a stunning view of Long Island Sound.

• Westport’s Compo Beach was the site of the British invasion of Danbury, also known as "Tryon’s Raid". The famous Minuteman Statue stands today in commemoration of a valiant defense against British forces during the American Revolution.
