Of course, the city named for the golden-hued beauty becomes prime viewing as Aspen's fall color lives up to it's reputation, especially in Maroon Bells, possibly the most photographed place in America. Then there are the day trips out to the Rockies from Denver, and to Pike's Peak in Colorado Springs.

Denver's premiere fall celebration happens each year in September at Denver Oktoberfest.

September 2024 -- Denver Oktoberfest Denver -- Featuring favorite brews, Bavarian food, oompah bands, a keg rolling competition, a costume contest, and there's lots more fun to celebrate the season.

September 20 - September 22, 2024 -- Boulder Fall Fest Boulder -- A three-day autumn festival at the historic Pearl Street Mall features local food vendors, live music and entertainment and the Firefly Handmade Market.

Saturdays in October - Miners' Pumpkin Patch Colorado Springs -- There's fun for the whole family at the annual fall fest with great food, hay rides, pumpkin smashing competitions, an authentic blacksmith shop, and panning for gold at the Western Museum of Mining & Industry.

October 11 - October 13, 2024 -- Telluride Horror Show Telluride -- Check out the this year's horribly good lineup at the annual sci-fi and horror film fest nestled in the beautiful fall landscapes of Telluride.
