Throughout Pennsylvania, fall foliage hits its peak in October with a breathtaking display practically anywhere you roam. Even in urban Philly there are at least a dozen excuses for a weekend fall foliage tour. These include places like incredibly scenic Wissahickon Gorge in Fairmont Park, the 92-acre Morris Arboretum, or a day trip to Valley Forge National Park.

Out west, Pittsburgh holds its own fall charms. Try the sweeping views of the entire city decked out for Autumn at Grandview Park, or escape the city altogether for an unforgettable ride through the legendary Laurel Highlands.

September 28 – October 6, 2024 -- Autumn Leaf Festival Clarion -- “Tournament of Leaves Parade,” kicks off this mega fall festival featuring craft vendors, carnival rides and fireworks specteculars over of nine days.

Weekends in October -- Jim Thorpe Fall Foliage Festival Jim Thorpe -- Come for the beautiful fall foliage, and stay for the live entertainment, antique train rides, arts and crafts shows, and savory fall food.

October 4 - October 6, 2024 -- Applefest, Franklin -- How do you like them apples? It's all about the apples at Franklin's annual Applefest including a cider press, apple pie eating contests and an apple pancake breakfast. But it doesn't stop there with dozens of art & craft vendors, live entertainment, and an antique car show.

October 5 - 6, October 12 - 13, 2024 -- Bedford Fall Foliage Festival Bedford -- This popular fall fest features hundreds of craft artisans together with live entertainment, and plenty of kids' activities including face painting, scarecrow making, a puppet theater and pony rides in the crisp mountain air of central Pennsylvania.
