Founded in
1546, Zacatecas offers a rich historical culture combined with
21st century living.
From fascinating
museums and cable-car rides of ancient mines, to villages where
traditional silversmiths still live and work, the state of Zacatecas
is a place where centuries of history meet modern-day elegance
and commodity.
Within the state, 9,400 acres are given over to grapes. Wineries in Zacatecas are located in Ojo Caliente and Valle de la Macarena.
This first winery was Bodegas del Altiplano, followed by Casa Cachola which arguably produces some of the region's most popular table wines.
