Nominees for the 51st annual Daytime Emmys will be announced on April 15, 2024 followed by the awards ceremony televised live on CBS on Friday, June 7, 2024 together with a livestream on Paramount+ from 8PM to 10PM ET.

New in 2024? Although on the roster since 1985, the Outstanding Younger Actor category has been eliminated from the Daytime Emmys this year, although young performers will still be eligible to compete in lead acting and supporting acting categories.

2023 Daytime Emmy rewind

2023 Daytime Emmy nominations (also see WINNERS, see below) had ABC’s General Hospital leading the pack with 19 nominations, followed by CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful  with 14 nods. The Young and the Restless recieved 13 nominations and NBC/Peacock’s Days of Our Lives  received 11 nods.

The Kelly Clarkson Show led the talk show field with 11 noms, followed by The Drew Barrymore Show with seven and The Jennifer Hudson Show next with six nods.

New in 2023? Following the main ceremony, winners of the Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmys were announced on Satiirday. December 16. The long-held tradition of honoring the Outstanding Game Show and Outstanding Game Show Host will also now be awarded during the Primetime Emmy Awards in September.

Special honors this year went to two daytime icons - legendary soap actress Susan Lucci (who starred as Erica Kane for over 40 years on the ABC daytime drama, All My Children) and daytime talk show host Maury Povitch for his decades-long impact on the world of daytime television.



This 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award went to daytime icons Susan Lucci and Maury Povitch.

Presenters during the broadcast included Shemar Moore who present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Susan Lucci plus Young & Restless stars Lauralee Bell, Peter Bergman, and Michael Damian; The Bold & The Beautiful cast members Don Diamont, John McCook and Heather Tom; Days of Our Lives cast members Mary Beth Evans and Drake Hogestyn; General Hospital stars Finola Hughes, Donnell Turner and Laura Wright; and Melody Thomas Scott from the Young and the Restless.

• The first Emmy Awards for daytime were given out at the primetime ceremony in 1972, when The Doctors won the first "Best Show Daytime" Emmy.

• Actress Susan Lucci was famous for her iconic role as Erica Kane in All My Children, due in part for being nominated 19 times and never winning. In an emotion-filled ceremony, Lucci finally won for Best Actress in 1999.

• Talk show host Ellen Degeneres holds the record for most Daytime Emmy Awards with 29.

• Actress Erika Slezak has received the most wins (six) for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Victoria Lord on One Life to Live.

• For Best Actor in a Drama Series, Anthony Geary has won a record eight times for his role as Luke Spencer on General Hospital.

• The most awarded game show ever at the Daytime Emmys? That would be Jeopardy! with 15 wins.
