Did YOUR favorite soap star or daytime talk show win a Daytime Emmy this year?

daytime emmy award statuetteThe official announcement of nominees for the 2017 Daytime Emmys (see below) were announced on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 -- kicking off a round of buzz leading up to the awards ceremony.

In the major categories, The Young and the Restless and General Hospital led with 10 nods apiece while Days of our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful each received 7 nominations.

The 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards took place in Los Angeles, California on Sunday April 30, 2017 at 5:00PM PT / 8:00PM ET live from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California. Co-hosting this year's ceremony were Mario Lopez and Sheryl Underwood.

Instead of a live television broadcast, audiences were able to livestream the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards direct from Facebook this year.

During the event, special tributes included one for the late Agnes Nixon, creator of "All My Children", who was honored at the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards with soap legend Susan Lucci taking part. The recipient of this years Lifetime Achievement Award went to Mary Hart, former long-running host of "Entertainment Tonight".
