• Along with the big game, the annual Fiesta Bowl Parade takes place earlier in the day, and watched by throngs of football fans and parade lovers. The lineup usually includes marching bands from high schools as well as the two universities participating in the Fiesta Bowl along with floats, equestrian units, and a seven-member queen and court.
• The Huskers' "Touchdown Tommie" Frazier made history at the 1996 Fiesta Bowl with a 75-yard touchdown run against the Florida Gators. It was Nebraska's longest all-time rush in 47 bowl games.
• The most famous use of the Statue of Liberty play happened at the 2007 Fiesta Bowl -- when the Boise State Broncos pulled the play for the win in "one of the most exciting college football games of all time". The move not only clinched Boise State a two-point conversion but a thrilling overtime victory.
• Although a latecomer to the traditional lineup of college bowl games (it only began in the 1970's), the Fiesta Bowl proved popular enough by 2014 to be included in the hosting rotation for playoff games in the annual college football championships.
